♥Summer essentials
Thursday, April 17, 2008
The last couple of weeks has been troublesome for me and not to mention, scorching HOT! Of course, we all know its summer and its meant to be hot.
But, don't you feel anxious about your skin? I do.
I've been worrying lately if I'm fully equipped for summer and that my skin doesn't wrinkle up or develop dark spots due to the constant exposure to the sun. It's one of my worst fears. I had a terrible experience back then. I had enjoyed the beach so much, the thought of protecting my skin slipped my mind. When classes started, my friends were shocked at my appearance. I was red and tanned so much, I resembled like a mahogany wood. Not to mention, the fact that I spent countless times trying to soothe my sunburns. UGH. NEVER again.
So, here are the things I learned (and a couple of tips I could give to you):
1.) Put on sunblock or sunscreen. Protecting your skin is a MUST during summer. Many people take that for granted. You should be aware that protecting your skin from the sun's ultraviolet rays is important so as not to develop skin cancer in the future.
Tip: Make sure the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is no lower than 30.
I suggest: Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 55 or 70

2.) If in case you were in a hurry to go out and had forgotten to put on your sunscreen then I suggest
bringing an umbrella. It provides enough cover for your skin against the heat of the sun. Ashamed? Then, how about trying on a
wide brim hat? That way, you look effortlessly
chic.
Tip: Try wearing hats of different colors. How about bright yellow? Or pink? Also, try adding a ribbon as an accessory. Not only are you protecting your face from the sun, you look fashionable at the same time.

3.) Wear sunglasses. Your face and your skin aren't the only ones that need to be protected, you should protect your eyes too. Too much sun exposure can cause the whites of your eyes to become slightly yellow. Plus, not only does it protect your eyes, it also protects the skin around your eyes too. We wouldn't want to have little wrinkles from the sun.
Tip: Look for lenses with UV400 sun protection on the label.
I suggest: Ray-Ban's wayfarer folding. Stylish and
chic. (It's my current obsession. I'm actually saving money to buy one since I'm never a big fan of designer knockoffs)
Now, that we've got that covered up. Let's all enjoy our summer!
Well, as soon as
summerclass is over.

♥Summer catastrophe

College determines what you will be when you grow up, what job you will have and what field will you work in.
Practically, what your
standing in life will be.
Will you be rich? Poor? Successful? Famous? Respected? Financially stable?
--
10 months ago, I finally stepped into the walls of college life, feeling overwhelmed, astonished and utterly slapped with
culture shock.I am
NOT used to this kind of life.
Especially, when you walked into the halls registered in a college course you have
NO intention to take up.
EVER. But, that's
another story.
Anyway, now, first semester and second semester are done— passing with grades that are average while others fairly enough to pass (I have no inspiration to study, ok?).
Then, here comes the most
shocking part. To
me, specifically.
SUMMERCLASS.
Like, whaatt???!
We still have to take a fucking summer class?! Like HELL, I would.
I won't complain if it was a tri-semester. But it's not. It was already like HELL to take a course I hate. AND, they're taking away my summer!?
Summer is the time to relax and have fun (with me, breaking away from the hell of a school), and now I can't have that. UGH.

My uncle/godfather who was working abroad called me a few weeks ago, asking about school. Of course, being a total moody, psychotic and sarcastic person, I feel sooo thrilled to tell him.
NOT.
So the conversation went like this.
God-daddy: So, how is school?
Spoiled Brat: Uhmm... fine. (Like, hell)
God-daddy: Okay, glad to see your doing well.
Spoiled Brat: (Doing well?! HA. As if. ) Yeah, I am. We also have summer class this summer.
God-daddy: What? You have summer class?!
Spoiled Brat: (Yeah, shocking isn't it?) Yes and now my summer is officially over.
Yes, officially OVER.
Oh well, at least I'm turning eighteen this May. And God is totally loving, He put it on a Saturday.
Come to think of it, maybe my summer is not all going to be bad.
I'll try and sneak in some absences and head to the beach with friends.
Now, hows THAT for summer?

♥Shopping spree
Tuesday, March 25, 2008

We all know shopping (for clothes) is a tiring activity— aggravating too.
Shifting from one boutique to another, trying top after top, jeans after jeans, shoes after shoes (possibly roamed every corner of the mall) and after an hour or so, still haven't had a clue on what to buy.
Well, not all but for some people.
Hhmm... people like me.
God knows how LONG I've been walking back and forth, entering and exiting dressing rooms and staring at articles of clothing deciding whether or not I should buy them.
I'm very much certain the employees are laughing their heads off behind my back. Well not really that certain. But, I can pretty much identify the hidden smirks plastered in their faces.
Or, was it my imagination?
Hhmm... did I mention it was Women's Month? Well, that was what the saleslady said to me. They gave me a small journal to commemorate the event.
--
Anyway, I was on my bored-to-death-so-I-should-go-shopping mood.
And, you know what? I went ALONE.
I don't really know why since I usually go shopping with my friends. Maybe, it was because I felt like being alone for a while. Or maybe, because my friends are unavailable and I'm the only one who has got nothing to do. Hhmm... I think it's pretty much the latter.
So after an hour or so (maybe more than that), I finally had been able to stock my closet with some flip-flops, a bikini and much needed florals for summer.
Now, the only thing missing is a trip to the beach.
And, I can't WAIT for that.
