♥BFFs no more
Saturday, July 05, 2008
For
months, I've been bothered by the fact that the close friendship my (former?) best friend and I had, had been reduced to simple hellos and small smiles. It's like we were decreased to mere acquaintances now.
No more were the usual traditions of hitting the mall every chance we get, watching horror movies together (me, covering my eyes while she sits casually in her seat like nothing happened), morning jogs every weekend and the usual times we'd spend sipping lattes in our favorite cafe gossiping and talking about boys.
I know for a fact that our
distance is one of the few reasons for our sudden lack of closeness.
With both of us studying in different colleges in different places, its hard to spend time with each other. But its difficult for me to believe when eight months before, we were still best friends doing the same usual things despite the fact that we haven't seen each other for six months. Then in just a blink of an eye, the next few months we see each other,
we're like strangers now. She'd go home and visit from time to time but I'm oblivious because I did not even receive some sort of notification from her.
Not one call or text. NONE AT ALL.
I'm confused as hell as what I
did or
did NOT do. Is it because times have changed? I agree. But, how come I'm still close friends with others who have the same situation (studying in a different college in a different place)?
Is it because I'm the one who changed?
I do not know what I'm supposed to do to repair our friendship. But I can't just sit in the sidelines and do nothing.
I'm not willing to throw our six years of friendship out the window. Yet.

♥Christian Dior Fall 2008 Couture
Wednesday, July 02, 2008
I've always loved flipping through designer's lookbooks online and couture has been my most favorite part to look at. Christian Dior is one of my favorite couture houses. And, recently it released it's Fall 2008 Couture collection.

The collection is mostly dominated with blacks but there are hints of grays, purple, mint and others colors as well. I love all the bold makeup, puffy skirts, cinched waists and tulle dance dresses.

The colors of the dresses and puffy skirts make it seem like beautiful classy ballerinas are strutting on the catwalk.
And, the final dress...
A lovely and magnificent collection. In a way, John Galliano is an artist. "Fresh couture— restrained and refined.", he called it.

♥Crazy hell of a week.
Thursday, May 22, 2008
It's been
days since I last posted anything. It's been really a hectic week for me and I've got loads to tell.
1. SUMMER CLASSES ARE OVER! Yes, you heard that right. The one thing that has kept me bitter and all riled up has passed.
Unfortunately, so is summer. Which gives me only a week before school starts
again. When, oh when, can I have a break?
2. This week I managed to catch up with a couple of friends who came home.
Missed you so much, loves! They attended my birthday bash, hang out, drank coffee and partied. It was fun while it lasted. Now, we have exactly just two weeks before reality slaps them in their faces shouting they need to go back.
Time flies so fast. Next thing you knew, you're stuck in your desk reading books much thicker than both of my thighs. Well, as of now,
not yet.3. As oppose to my reason of not posting (it being hectic week), it's actually because I had been studying for final exams and cramming a LOT. I've been juggling summer class, spending time with friends and at the same time,
enjoying summer. I know I've been ranting about how summer class ruined my WHOLE summer but that doesn't mean I have to rant all of my life about it and not enjoy the summer season before school starts.
...
I'd add other things but somehow those would be a lot personal.
It's going to be a
lovely week ahead.
Summer class is over and I'm totally
free!Labels: lists, rants, thoughts

♥The sky is crying
Wednesday, May 14, 2008

It's been raining nonstop for days and is unbearably cold too. My clothes are wet and I'm all soaked and shivering to the bone. My hair is ruined too.
Sigh, so much for a wonderful summer. Seriously, rain during summer? The sun seems to be on hibernation as of late because all I see when I look up in the sky are dark clouds and the feel of rain hitting my face.
The weather report states that this would be happening for a while.
Nooo!! This could not be happening.
Stupid storm. Stupid rain.
Oh, how I beg and plead to the heavens, let the sun come out...

♥Gladiator Mania
Monday, May 05, 2008
(Left: D&G gladiator flat sandal Right:BCBG Max Azria 'Lizzie' Thong)
We all know Gladiator sandals are a hit this season and I'm betting most of you already own at least a pair. I mean, how could you ever resist? They are basically perfect for the weather in our country. Our feet can finally breathe and our little tootsies will be spared of all the blisters and aching pain we feel whenever we'd dawn a pair of high heels. They're the perfect summer footwear (besides flipflops, of course. Nothing can beat those). Pair them with any summer dress or a plain tank top and some shorts and you'll look effortlessly chic.
But then for the past month, I've noticed a change and that their designs and structure have gone a little overboard. Take for example: Gladiator fringes.
(Etro sandals)
About a month ago, I've come across
I am Fashion posting about gladiator sandals with fringes and how Vogue claimed them to be the "it" shoes. Though how much I adore gladiator sandals and the comfort they provide, fringes on them do not portray the least bit of stylishness. Honestly, I'd prefer a simpler version of that, maybe with less fringe or none at all.
Another new design of gladiator sandals that I've come across with are the jellies. Now, we all know the popularity of jellies ever since of last year with people setting aside their flats and high heeled pumps to put on a pair of shoes entirely made of rubber like Marc by Marc Jacob's jelly peep toe flats and jelly mouse shoes (of which I was disappointed to know they were copied and faked by some).

(HULK jelly gladiator sandals by Topshop)
Truthfully, I had never bought jelly shoes nor even dared to try them. Yes, they are comfortable but I wasn't at all fond of owning a pair of shoes entirely made of rubber nor does it scream "chic" to me. They awaken no longing nor lust, no attraction whatsoever. Unless you're 10 years old or younger then that would be a perfect excuse, if not, then don't bother. Gladiator sandals look so much better if its made in leather, topped with cool studs and sometimes with a hint of metallic touch, gold, preferably.

♥Summer catastrophe
Friday, April 04, 2008
College determines what you will be when you grow up, what job you will have and what field will you work in.
Practically, what your
standing in life will be.
Will you be rich? Poor? Successful? Famous? Respected? Financially stable?
--
10 months ago, I finally stepped into the walls of college life, feeling overwhelmed, astonished and utterly slapped with
culture shock.I am
NOT used to this kind of life.
Especially, when you walked into the halls registered in a college course you have
NO intention to take up.
EVER. But, that's
another story.
Anyway, now, first semester and second semester are done— passing with grades that are average while others fairly enough to pass (I have no inspiration to study, ok?).
Then, here comes the most
shocking part. To
me, specifically.
SUMMERCLASS.
Like, whaatt???!
We still have to take a fucking summer class?! Like HELL, I would.
I won't complain if it was a tri-semester. But it's not. It was already like HELL to take a course I hate. AND, they're taking away my summer!?
Summer is the time to relax and have fun (with me, breaking away from the hell of a school), and now I can't have that. UGH.
--
My uncle/godfather who was working abroad called me a few weeks ago, asking about school. Of course, being a total moody, psychotic and sarcastic person, I feel sooo thrilled to tell him.
NOT.
So the conversation went like this.
God-daddy: So, how is school?
Spoiled Brat: Uhmm... fine. (Like, hell)
God-daddy: Okay, glad to see your doing well.
Spoiled Brat: (Doing well?! HA. As if. ) Yeah, I am. We also have summer class this summer.
God-daddy: What? You have summer class?!
Spoiled Brat: (Yeah, shocking isn't it?) Yes and now my summer is officially over.
Yes, officially OVER.
Oh well, at least I'm turning eighteen this May. And God is totally loving, He put it on a Saturday.
Come to think of it, maybe my summer is not all going to be bad.
I'll try and sneak in some absences and head to the beach with friends.
Now, hows THAT for summer?

♥Trapped in a cage.
Wednesday, April 02, 2008

--
I live in a world of indifference and hypocrisy,
filled with mysteries and the unknown.
I stand in the sidelines like a shadow in the dark.
I stared. I looked. I gazed.
All the people that I know, seem like strangers.
...seem not to care what I feel.
Their goals and visions are met at an arm's length
while mine is distant and far away.
I long to reach for it,
yet people around me prevent me from doing so.
They are happy,
I am NOT.
Because no matter how many material things, privileges
and freedom I get from my parents,
... I am still expected to do what they want,
and be what they want.
I am trapped in a cage,
like a poor animal longing for freedom.

♥Shopping spree
Tuesday, March 25, 2008

We all know shopping (for clothes) is a tiring activity— aggravating too.
Shifting from one boutique to another, trying top after top, jeans after jeans, shoes after shoes (possibly roamed every corner of the mall) and after an hour or so, still haven't had a clue on what to buy.
Well, not all but for some people.
Hhmm... people like me.
God knows how LONG I've been walking back and forth, entering and exiting dressing rooms and staring at articles of clothing deciding whether or not I should buy them.
I'm very much certain the employees are laughing their heads off behind my back. Well not really that certain. But, I can pretty much identify the hidden smirks plastered in their faces.
Or, was it my imagination?
Hhmm... did I mention it was Women's Month? Well, that was what the saleslady said to me. They gave me a small journal to commemorate the event.
--
Anyway, I was on my bored-to-death-so-I-should-go-shopping mood.
And, you know what? I went ALONE.
I don't really know why since I usually go shopping with my friends. Maybe, it was because I felt like being alone for a while. Or maybe, because my friends are unavailable and I'm the only one who has got nothing to do. Hhmm... I think it's pretty much the latter.
So after an hour or so (maybe more than that), I finally had been able to stock my closet with some flip-flops, a bikini and much needed florals for summer.
Now, the only thing missing is a trip to the beach.
And, I can't WAIT for that.

♥Utterly mean and jealous
Monday, March 17, 2008

Being as observant and perceptive of my surroundings (particularly those that are happening in my campus), I had noticed a few odd things which I'm pretty sure is NOT only occurring as of late but possibly for quite some time.
It's been bothering me lately and I couldn't resist writing about it. I don't know if other people noticed but I did.
Let me explain it.
-- Insert situation
(stylishandpretty passes a group of girls)
greenwithenvy: (points to stylishandpretty) "Ugh. Just look her. Don't you think she's going overboard? Printed tights, ankle boots and a leather jacket? In school?"
jealousbi-otch:" Yeah, who does she think she is? A fashionista? Ugh. So trying hard."
It is in MY own words defined as utterly mean and jealous.
Just because a girl was BOLD enough to wear those clothes to school doesn't give you the permission to trash talk about her. It only means you're envious. PATHETIC, really. Some people criticize others about how they wear when they themselves aren't that even fashionable. Who do THEY think they are?
I, myself, am not gonna deny that I do criticize other people's choice of clothes. But, I do NOT criticize them for being bold or for following this season's fashion trends.
It's plain ridiculous.
Who cares if she's trying to be Paris Hilton, Mischa Barton or whoever. Who cares if she stands out in the crowd. Those girls are only jealous that people like her are the center of attention.
It's her choice. Her own unique style.
And, we have NO permission to judge people like her.

♥The trendsetter, the follower and the unique
Saturday, March 08, 2008
Do you follow fashion trends? Is your answer an immediate "Of course, I do!"? Those ever faithful followers of fashion trends. Those that are very much aware of the "ins" and the "outs".Is your answer a definite "No, why should I?"? Those that prefer their own style and uniqueness. Those people who do things the complete opposite of what the rest are doing.Or maybe, you are one of those few who say, "No, I start them." Those that start the trends not follow them. Which one of these are your answers? Are you the trendsetter, the follower or the unique?

♥Sober and Depressed
Friday, February 22, 2008
I am officially SOBER and DEPRESSED right now.
Forgive me, for being so out of character but I am least entitled to be emo once in a while. I'll be back to being bratty once I'm over my self-pity-depressed mode which would last... hhmm, I dunno when actually.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand.
WHY? Why am I sober and depressed right now? Let me answer that with another question.
How would YOU feel if your friends know something and you DON'T? That they are talking about something behind your back? And that something or should I say someone is YOU?
Okay, so I haven't yet confirmed that it is me they are talking about but I have this STRONG feeling deep within my gut and most of the time, that kind of instinct has never been proven wrong. NEVER.
--
I felt betrayed, as if I was slapped in the face HARD.
Why couldn't they just CONFRONT me? Tell me what's bothering them instead of talking in hushed voices while I'm around. That would make it even MORE obvious.
I mean, DUH. How come I'm NOT included in the conversation? Am I NOT your friend?
It's not that I'm afraid of confrontations (If I do ever decide to confront them), I'm afraid of what would be the outcome. With me sometimes being crude and bitchy, I could accidentally say something harsh and hurtful. And I wouldn't want that to be a trigger in ending our friendship.
SIGH.
Just thinking about it makes me feel even MORE depressed.

♥Exams
Monday, February 18, 2008
TODAY is my exams. Well, not necessarily just today but for THREE days.
God, help me. I'm about to collapse.
Exams means a LOT of things.
One, I'd be immersed in HUGE piles of books, working my ass off till I plead refuge on the comforts of my bed, which would be only be a maximum of FOUR hours. My beauty sleep, ruptured. Woes, me.
Two, this means memorization and all the la dee dah, la dee dah. My head is about to burst. Exaggeration, I know.
And three, I have to sacrifice a LOT of things―
TV, Gossip Girl (though, I already watched the whole season 1. I'm waiting for season 2) fashion magazines, malling and internet (well, I'm blogging right now, so who cares). Only to be replaced by books, papers, notes and blah blah blah.
Well, I'm off to school to take the darn exams.
Wish me luck!
I know, I'm gonna need it.

♥Valentine Fever
Thursday, February 14, 2008
It's Valentines and I've been hit with VALENTINE FEVER.
Symptoms:
- too hyper and jolly
- singing love songs all day
- buying a heart-shaped balloon (...for myself)
Weird. I know.
I bought a heart-shaped balloon for MYSELF. Not a rose. A balloon.
A heart-shaped one.
So? It's cute.
Who cares if right now, I don't have a SPECIAL someone.
As long as my cute adorable pink heart-shaped balloon is right by my side.
I'm happy.

♥Imperfection
Monday, January 28, 2008
I would never start a post saying "I hate my life!". EVER.
It's just too emo. Sooo NOT me.
But unfortunately, those four words come close to what I feel right now. UGH. No matter how much I detest even admitting that.
Okay, so let's just skip to the main part.
My CURRENT dilemma: My mom and I had an argument.
No surprise there. I mean everybody has their little disputes with their parents. Mine, just so happened recently.
--Insert dialogue.
(SB arrives home)
Mommy-dearest: "Where have you been?"
Spoiled Brat:"...with my friends." (moves to go to room)
Mommy-dearest: "Why are you so irresponsible and reckless?"
Spoiled Brat: (rolls eyes) "...and how am I irresponsible and reckless? I did nothing wrong."
Mommy-dearest: "You are taking your studies for granted! That's what!"
Spoiled Brat: " Am not! How can you be so sure of that!"
Mommy-dearest: " I don't see you studying! You're always out hanging with those friends of yours!"
Spoiled Brat: "Just because you don't see me studying doesn't mean I'm taking my studies for granted!" (runs to room and slams the door)
You know what the hell happened next?
Mommy-dearest comes knocking on the door saying "Your father is on the phone."
And, all hell broke loose.
--
I HATE pressure.
Above all, I hated being pressured to do something I DON'T want. It's not that I don't want to be responsible (I already am, I just don't show it). I don't want to be pressured to be someone I'm NOT.
And that includes the whole Ms. goody-two-shoes.
I know I'm not the perfect daughter. I'm guilty of that fact.
However, parents should at least bear in mind that NOBODY is born perfect. So what if I have a little fun? There's nothing wrong in enjoying your teenage life, is there? It only comes around once and I'm not gonna spend it all immersed in books, staying home and being the perfect daughter and pupil.
I'll go crazy.
Worse, I'll die. Well, not literally. You get the point.
Everybody has their imperfections. Mine, is failing to be the perfect daughter my mom wanted me to be.
