BFFs no more
Saturday, July 05, 2008

For months, I've been bothered by the fact that the close friendship my (former?) best friend and I had, had been reduced to simple hellos and small smiles. It's like we were decreased to mere acquaintances now. No more were the usual traditions of hitting the mall every chance we get, watching horror movies together (me, covering my eyes while she sits casually in her seat like nothing happened), morning jogs every weekend and the usual times we'd spend sipping lattes in our favorite cafe gossiping and talking about boys.

I know for a fact that our distance is one of the few reasons for our sudden lack of closeness. With both of us studying in different colleges in different places, its hard to spend time with each other. But its difficult for me to believe when eight months before, we were still best friends doing the same usual things despite the fact that we haven't seen each other for six months. Then in just a blink of an eye, the next few months we see each other, we're like strangers now.

She'd go home and visit from time to time but I'm oblivious because I did not even receive some sort of notification from her. Not one call or text. NONE AT ALL.

I'm confused as hell as what I did or did NOT do. Is it because times have changed? I agree. But, how come I'm still close friends with others who have the same situation (studying in a different college in a different place)?

Is it because I'm the one who changed?

I do not know what I'm supposed to do to repair our friendship. But I can't just sit in the sidelines and do nothing.

I'm not willing to throw our six years of friendship out the window. Yet.

Christian Dior Fall 2008 Couture
Wednesday, July 02, 2008

I've always loved flipping through designer's lookbooks online and couture has been my most favorite part to look at. Christian Dior is one of my favorite couture houses. And, recently it released it's Fall 2008 Couture collection.

The collection is mostly dominated with blacks but there are hints of grays, purple, mint and others colors as well. I love all the bold makeup, puffy skirts, cinched waists and tulle dance dresses.

The colors of the dresses and puffy skirts make it seem like beautiful classy ballerinas are strutting on the catwalk.

Hourglass silhouettes are also heavily emphasized through translucent gowns.

And, the final dress...

A lovely and magnificent collection. In a way, John Galliano is an artist. "Fresh couture— restrained and refined.", he called it.
