I've been tagged by both Jue and Nix.

RULES:

1. Each blogger starts with ten random facts/habits about themselves
2. Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their ten things and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose ten people to get tagged and list their names.
4. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

1. I have never had a boyfriend before. Yes. It's true. And I'm in college already. I mean, who cares if I'm still NBSB (No Boyfriend Since Birth)?! I'm not at all in hurry to be in a relationship. Plus, I'm loving my singleness and sizzling-hot-manless (I made that up) life!

2. I hate summer class. No surprise there since I've been ranting about this for the past few weeks. Still HATE it. Still LOATHE it.

3. I am taking up a college course I don't like. My parent's choice. My whole family's (including aunts, uncles and grandparents) choice. Their advice? This will be your starting point. Okay. My staring point is so far away from what I want to achieve.

4. My favorite food is pasta and chocolates. Lots and lots of chocolates.

5. I'm a lazy person yet I go out a lot. You'll find me lounging in front of the tv or the computer but when a friend calls to hang out, I jump immediately out the door.

6. I'm an impulse buyer and a spendthrift. Money in my hands disappear in seconds that's why saving is a hard task for me.

7. I love watching Fashion TV and browsing through lookbooks of my favorite designers. I'll never get tired of that.

8. I collect nail polish. I put on a different color every week. My favorite colors tend to be used a lot. This week is translucent white.

9. I wish I live in New York or Milan or London or Paris. Where it's Fashion Week heaven twice a year.

10. I long to work in the fashion industry someday. And that ma-dears, will surely come true. I'll make sure of it.

I pass it on to:
April, Diana, Greysh, Kring, Lianne, Mike, Rendayle, Larissa.

Step by Step
Sunday, April 20, 2008

Yesterday was my first class in dressmaking (another additional to my trunk load of summer classes. This time, however, is something I been wanting for a long time).

And it was AMAZING.

The feeling of slowly accomplishing your dream step by step and doing something you enjoy and love was beyond words.

I was totally ecstatic!

I can finally know how to make clothes and just maybe, I can finally sew my designs.

Summer essentials
Thursday, April 17, 2008

The last couple of weeks has been troublesome for me and not to mention, scorching HOT! Of course, we all know its summer and its meant to be hot.

But, don't you feel anxious about your skin? I do.

I've been worrying lately if I'm fully equipped for summer and that my skin doesn't wrinkle up or develop dark spots due to the constant exposure to the sun. It's one of my worst fears. I had a terrible experience back then. I had enjoyed the beach so much, the thought of protecting my skin slipped my mind. When classes started, my friends were shocked at my appearance. I was red and tanned so much, I resembled like a mahogany wood. Not to mention, the fact that I spent countless times trying to soothe my sunburns. UGH. NEVER again.

So, here are the things I learned (and a couple of tips I could give to you):

1.) Put on sunblock or sunscreen. Protecting your skin is a MUST during summer. Many people take that for granted. You should be aware that protecting your skin from the sun's ultraviolet rays is important so as not to develop skin cancer in the future.

Tip: Make sure the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is no lower than 30.

I suggest: Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 55 or 70

2.
) If in case you were in a hurry to go out and had forgotten to put on your sunscreen then I suggest bringing an umbrella. It provides enough cover for your skin against the heat of the sun. Ashamed? Then, how about trying on a wide brim hat? That way, you look effortlessly chic.

Tip:
Try wearing hats of different colors. How about bright yellow? Or pink? Also, try adding a ribbon as an accessory. Not only are you protecting your face from the sun, you look fashionable at the same time.

3.) Wear sunglasses.
Your face and your skin aren't the only ones that need to be protected, you should protect your eyes too. Too much sun exposure can cause the whites of your eyes to become slightly yellow. Plus, not only does it protect your eyes, it also protects the skin around your eyes too. We wouldn't want to have little wrinkles from the sun.

Tip: Look for lenses with UV400 sun protection on the label.

I suggest: Ray-Ban's wayfarer folding. Stylish and chic. (It's my current obsession. I'm actually saving money to buy one since I'm never a big fan of designer knockoffs)

Now, that we've got that covered up. Let's all enjoy our summer!

Well, as soon as summerclass is over.

Goals...for now.
Monday, April 14, 2008

Summerclass had started five days ago and since then, I've been BUSY.

As much as I had repeated OVER and OVER again how much I despise summerclass, I had NO choice but to accept it ...regrettably.

My schedule isn't that cramped up since I'm only taking up three subjects. Unfortunately, I have to sit and listen to boring lectures for TWO whole hours. I know I won't be enjoying it but I'll TRY to survive.

And so, I made a list of my goals for this summer.

Well, it's NOT really official since I'll be adding bits and pieces in the future.

--

My Goals... for now:
1. Plan for my birthday. I'm so excited! Adulthood and legal age, here I come!

2. Survive summerclass.
( I'm chanting: "I will not quit...will not quit... NOT quit...")

3. Save money. I can do that. I can definitely DO THAT... maybe.

4. Wake up early so I won't be late to class. I'm so lazy and I'm NEVER a morning person. My body is feels heavy in the morning.

5. Listen attentively to the teacher. I suppose the latest gossip can wait. Or not.
Its so boring just sitting there.

6. Find the perfect summer dress. Color is not too bright. Simple yet elegant.

7. I still have to go to the beach with "friends". My dear friends who are studying far away, please come home SOON. I'm waiting... It sucks to be stuck here in boring land.

8. NO impulse buying. Again, I have to save money! So, I have to control the urge.

9. Spend some quality time with my family. It's been a while since we were all complete. My parents are always busy, especially, my dad.

10. Be serious with my studies. Well, I'll TRY. I get the whole college-is-no-joke speech so often, I'd want to puke. Geez people... I get it already. I'll finish this stupid course and take up my dream course later in the future.
--

Well, this is all I can think of right now.

I'll add more goals in the future.

Summer catastrophe

College determines what you will be when you grow up, what job you will have and what field will you work in.

Practically, what your standing in life will be.

Will you be rich? Poor? Successful? Famous? Respected? Financially stable?

--

10 months ago, I finally stepped into the walls of college life, feeling overwhelmed, astonished and utterly slapped with culture shock.

I am NOT used to this kind of life.

Especially, when you walked into the halls registered in a college course you have NO intention to take up. EVER.

But, that's another story.

Anyway, now, first semester and second semester are done— passing with grades that are average while others fairly enough to pass (I have no inspiration to study, ok?).

Then, here comes the most shocking part. To me, specifically.

SUMMERCLASS.

Like, whaatt???!

We still have to take a fucking summer class?! Like HELL, I would.

I won't complain if it was a tri-semester. But it's not. It was already like HELL to take a course I hate. AND, they're taking away my summer!?

Summer is the time to relax and have fun (with me, breaking away from the hell of a school), and now I can't have that. UGH.

--

My uncle/godfather who was working abroad called me a few weeks ago, asking about school. Of course, being a total moody, psychotic and sarcastic person, I feel sooo thrilled to tell him.

NOT.

So the conversation went like this.
God-daddy: So, how is school?
Spoiled Brat: Uhmm... fine. (Like, hell)
God-daddy: Okay, glad to see your doing well.
Spoiled Brat: (Doing well?! HA. As if. ) Yeah, I am. We also have summer class this summer.
God-daddy: What? You have summer class?!
Spoiled Brat: (Yeah, shocking isn't it?) Yes and now my summer is officially over.
Yes, officially OVER.

Oh well, at least I'm turning eighteen this May. And God is totally loving, He put it on a Saturday.

Come to think of it, maybe my summer is not all going to be bad.

I'll try and sneak in some absences and head to the beach with friends.

Now, hows THAT for summer?

Trapped in a cage.
Wednesday, April 02, 2008

--

I live in a world of indifference and hypocrisy,
filled with mysteries and the
unknown.

I stand in the sidelines like a
shadow in the dark.

I stared. I looked. I gazed.

All the people that I know, seem like strangers.
...seem not to care what I feel.

Their goals and visions are met at an arm's length
while mine is distant and far away.

I long to reach for it,
yet people around me prevent me from doing so.

They are happy,
I am NOT.

Because no matter how many material things, privileges
and freedom I get from my parents,

... I am still expected to do what they want,
and be what they want.

I am trapped in a cage,
like a poor animal longing for freedom.
